Avoid These 10 Mistakes While Walking!
-
Do not go out in uncomfortable shoes. Some slight discomfort at the
beginning may develop into stinging pain over time and your stroll will
be compromised.
-
Wear comfy clothes that are seasonally appropriate. Feeling too hot or
too cold won’t help and you could catch a cold. Also, you should be able
to move freely.
-
Blaming yourself for setbacks. Listen, they are normal, setbacks happen.
Take your time and continue moving towards your goal.
- Not doing a proper warm-up before walking.

- Forgetting to maintain good posture.
-
Not maintaining the right pace. Keep in mind that brisk walking is best.
If you’re struggling to keep up with the pace, do brisk walking in
intervals.
-
No strength training. While walking is indeed a great way to start
incorporating physical activity into your life, with time you’ll need to
do more to continue losing weight—strength training. Health
organizations recommend doing 2 strength training sessions a week.
-
The same route over and over again. You need to come up with new routes
from time to time; otherwise, you’ll see your walking habit turn into
something really boring.
-
Your nutrition isn't helping. Overeating and a diet of mostly
processed foods simply cannot support or aid your walking efforts.
- Neglecting proper hydration.
